How Times Change

The programme for the Llanelly (that’s how they spelt it then) v. Gloucester match on 19 Nov 1949 included the following comment in the notes:

“The result is not, of course, so very important. It is the game that counts and if we are to be treated to good play, such as we have seen in recent games, then there will be few grumbles. Good luck, both sides.”

As a matter of interest, Llanelly won on that occasion, 3-0.
