Loudspeakers at Kingsholm, an ongoing problem.
At the club committee meeting on 9 Sep 1936, Ivor Williams, the players’ representative on the committee, raised the possibility of installing a loudspeaker microphone on the ground for announcements. The committee failed to reach a decision and deferred the matter. At their next meeting on 22 Sep, the question was again discussed “and it was agreed that same be not entertained”.
31 years later, according to the Minutes of the GRFC AGM on 18 Jul 1967, things were evidently still not quite right:
“”[Member] expressed the pleasure of the members at hearing that floodlighting was to be installed at Kingsholm, but appealed to the Committee to be sure to have something done about the Public Address System, which left much to be desired…
