Extract from the Minutes of GRFC General Meeting held on 25 July 1968:

“Ladies Committee.

The Secretary had met the Chairman of the Ladies’ Committee, and had agreed with her that instead of a box of chocolates being presented to each member of the Committee from the Club for their work throughout the season, a meal be booked at the Twelve Bells, Witcome, the Club to meet the cost of meal and coach.

The Secretary explained that the idea of a box of chocolates had not been well received by some members of the Ladies’ Committee, and the alternative he had agreed with their Chair was the Ladies’ own suggestion.

The Committee unanimously agreed the action of the Secretary in this matter.”
