The Search for a New Ground

1888
By Dick Williams

The Annual General Meeting of 1888 reported a number of attempts to try to procure a new ground, but none had been found suitable. Under the lead of H. J Boughton a sub-committee investigated potential plots at Baddings Field, a field at the back of the station, Beard's Field on the Bristol Rd, a location on Barton St, and some land next to Linden Rd.

All of these had drawbacks, and the AGM moved on to other topics without any resolution being made.
