A Match without Penalties.

Here’s an extract from a report of the match on 19 September 1953, Gloucester v. Moseley. Gloucester won 13 – 0.

“A phenomenal feature of Gloucester’s match with Moseley at Kingsholm was the fact that not a single penalty kick was awarded to either side throughout the whole of the game. It is many years since this happened in a first-class match at Kingsholm. Indeed it may even have made history! “

Was this unique, we wonder?
