A transcript of a lecture given in Wheatsheaf Hall, Brunswick Road, Gloucester, on 26 September 1951 by local solicitor C. Granville Clutterbuck, who at that time had been a member of Gloucester Rugby Club for nearly 70 years. He was born in 1871, and recalls matches from 1878 onwards, featuring many of Gloucester’s early stars.
