1 week after the seed was sewn

It’s seven days since the seed was sown (Friday 8th June).    Stadium Manager Dave Balmer had hoped to start the watering over the previous weekend.   However, due to a faulty sprinkler head, watering could not be started until the Tuesday (12th June).

Since then watering has been carried out at 7am, 11am, 4pm and 7pm each day.  The results can be seen in the attached photos.    Although the seed has begun to germinate the main effect of the watering has been to bed the sand down into the fibres of the mat.   So, although the pitch looks green, most of what can be seen are the fibres of the mat sticking above the layer of sand.
