Day 1 - Tuesday 8 May - Removing the turf
The old pitch goes.
Day 2 - Wednesday 9 May - Turf goes and GPS is prepared.
An estimated 200 tons of soil and grass clippings need to be removed from site.
Day 3 - Thursday 10 May - Levelling the surface
All day was spent bulldozing the soil to start creating the required profile of the new pitch.

Day 18 - Friday 25 May - The final stages of preparation
Following heavy overnight rain the surface of the working areas have become quite muddy.
Day 24 Thursday 31 May - Laying the mat
We re-join the action following the Bank Holiday weekend.
Day 25 - Friday 1 June - Extending the mat across the pitch.
It's Friday and work continues to lay the mat across the pitch. But images can be deceptive.
Day 26 - Saturday 2 June - Starting the sand layer
Although the mat doesn't yet cover the full width of the pitch it's time to start adding the sand.
Day 28 - Monday 4 June - More sand is applied
The mat has now been laid across the whole pitch and a first layer of sand applied.
Day 32 - Friday 8 June - The final push - Seed sowing
It's taken 32 days to get to the final stage of fertilizing and sewing the grass seed.
Day 39 - Friday 15 June - 1 week after seed sowing
The pitch begins to look green. But it's mainly fibres that can be seen.
Day 53 - Friday 29 June - Weather is a factor
3 weeks after sowing the seed.
Day 60 - Friday 6 July - Preparing the walkways
Work begins to tarmac the walkways.

Final preparations are made to the pitch and its surroundings on Match Day
