Management of the Project

By Malc King

The project was set up as part of Friends of Gloucestershire Archives, and that organisation has maintained an oversight of the project, but it has been agreed that the two organisations should now operate separately. The Friends has become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and Gloucester Rugby Heritage is in the process of applying to become a separate CIO. Originally Gloucestershire Archives and Gloucester Rugby were represented on the project committee, which oversees and organises the project, but all committee members are now volunteers.

The committee members are:

Malcolm King – Chairman

John Theyers - Treasurer

Dick Williams – Webmaster

Dave Smith – Secretary

Chris Collier – Statistician

John Cowen - Researcher

Various aspects of the project always appear on committee meeting agendas:

Data Gathering

Website and Data Management

Education and Interpretation

Events and Publicity

3 Gloucester men namely Hall, Holland and Wood led GB to victory in one of Rugby League's finest ever tests, the Battle of Rorke's Drift on July 4 1913. Can we please do something to celebrate the centenary this year? Tel 07817 520789.
