Masseur Wanted
Before the start of the 1948-49 season, Tom Day, the Player’s Representative on the Club Committee, reported that the players would like the Club to appoint a Club Masseur. This was agreed in principle, but the candidate put forward could “not be entertained” by the Committee, for reasons not specified.
The players were asked to propose someone else, but no suitable candidate could be found, so the committee minutes record that “it was agreed to let the matter lie on the table”.
