Percy Stout's Field Day

On March 19 1898 at Kingsholm, in a 50-0 victory over Weston Super Mare, Percy Stout the England international wing and elder of the famous Stout brothers, scored 32 points (4 tries, 2 penalties, 5 conversions and a dropped goal). This was 6 points more than the entire team scored in any other match that season.  F.W. Lovesey, the Gloucester secretary, noted in the score book “Percy Stout had a field day.”
